Smiles of Hawaii Dental Project
Smiles of Hawaii Dental Project 501(c)3
A Nonprofit Dental Project To Help the Community
Our mission is to provide dental care to those who are challenged financially and geographically.
The project started with Pastor Rumbaoa from Lahaina asking me to share my services in the Philippines. I always had a reason to say no, until I went through a difficult time in my life, someone told me that when you are down give, so I said yes.
I found helping others during my own challenges in life helped me to put things into perspective. I was hooked, that was in 2007. I have joined several dental missions every time growing the group by taking someone new. I started my own nonprofit in the 2016 Smiles of Hawaii Dental Project. When we are not away on a mission, we serve our community by partnering with agencies such as Donated Dental Service, we donate our services to someone in need in our community, so they can get back on their feet. We are starting a community project, Hygiene for Homeless, since there is a growing number of homelessness; we find the simple act of giving a hygiene kit of toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss can help someone immensely.
